We've just received a full restock of one of the most popular pieces from Naked & Famous's fall collection: The Weird Guy Kakishibu selvedge. This amazing denim uses two natural dyes from Japan in its creation. The warp yarn of the denim uses a natural indigo, one of the world's oldest dyes, which creates a rich deep blue. The weft is dyed using a Japanese dye called Kakishibu, which means persimmon dye. The tannin in the persimmon fruit creates an earthy brown that has unique character.
Naked & Famous "Weird Guy" 11oz Natural Indigo Kakishibu Selvedge in True Indigo. 100% cotton, made in Canada. Sizes 28-34, 36. $195. For more information, click here.
The patch used on the denim is a thick, natural leather that will age just as beautifully as the denim itself.
Like all Naked & Famous denim, the Kakishibu selvedge uses custom branded nickel hardware.
Here you can see the details of the tonal stitching, which almost matches the brown of the persimmon dyed weft. The brown weft peaks through the warp threads, and gives the jeans a natural hue.
The pure white selvedge line is a great contrast against the brown weft and deep blue of the natural indigo warp.
