Two new denim have landed from our favorite jeans-makers in the hills of Okayama, Momotaro! This is an updated version of their old 18oz denim, which now uses 100% Zimbabwe cotton instead of the old American/Australian blend. Offered in their new Tight Tapered and Natural Tapered fits, this is a great classic color denim that will be the perfect weight for the coming months.

The patch used on the new seasonal Momotaro denim has been a dark brown suede, which sits comfortably on the waistband almost noticeable when worn. The patch actually ages quite well, showing wear and acquiring indigo during washes.
Momotaro uses custom branded nickel buttons and copper rivets.
The subtle peach pattern in the pocket bag and on the back side of the rivets are among the details that make Momotaro what it is.
Momotaro's classic pink inseam and pink selvedge, representing the peach from the Japanese folktale, are included on this denim.
Here you can see the comparison between the two versions of the 18oz, with the new on top. The new Zimbabwe cotton is coarser on the interior, and softens up with wear, while the old version is Pima cotton on the weft, making it extremely soft from the get-go. The color on the new denim is darker and starchier, making it feel like a true heavyweight. The difference in feel and material between these two denim is enough to warrant owning both.
