Our friend Dustin from over the mountains has finished up his first belt for us, and we're seriously impressed with the craftsmanship. All three belts use premium leather from the Horween tannery in Chicago, and are made entirely by hand, exclusively for Blue Owl. The attention to detail is what really sets these belts apart.

Each belt uses different style of leather. The natural belt is a vegetable tanned horse hide, something we've never seen on a belt before. The unique character of each hide makes every belt different. The leather is stiff and rigid, but will break in beautifully as it is worn. The black uses the Horween staple, Chromexcel, which is widely known as an extremely comfortable and durable leather. The Latigo uses Horween's Color #8 Illini Latigo, which has a hot stuffed blend of natural oils and waxes to create a leather that breaks in quickly and creates a unique patina.
Dustin punches 7 holes in his belts to make sizing easier, and has a clean angular end design. He bevels the edges to a smooth finish, and wax burnishes them to a nice sheen. Every cut Dustin makes is precise to the dot: we didn't find even a fourth inch difference between belts of the same size.
All belts use a single piece matte nickel plated solid brass buckle. Dustin's rivets are a black oxide brass from Belgium, which are reverse set. The open side of the rivets is hidden by the other end of the belt when worn, and the smooth side of the rivets faces the denim, preventing any possible damage to your jeans.
