Canada Goose Freestyle Vest and Hybridge Lite Vest

Now that the colder months are rolling around we've finally picked up a few more items from Canada Goose. Canada Goose is considered the highest quality cold-weather outerwear company in the world, producing vests, jackets, and raincoats for climates ranging from chilly cities to the south pole. The two vests that we've added to our collection are both very warm, rated for temperatures down to 5 degrees fahrenheit. The Freestyle vest works very well as a stand-alone piece, with large pockets for any sort of every-day carry and hands. The Hybridge Lite Vest is very thin and light-weight. The entire piece can be packed into its own pocket. The vest is perfect for layering - it can turn any fall coat into a winter coat without adding any noticeable thickness. To top it all off, the Hybridge Vest has an amazing slim fit that looks great when paired with a nice slim raw denim or chino.

All of the Freestyle vests feature the standard red, white, and blue Canada Goose patch.

The metal YKK hardware feels solid without getting in the way. The Freestyle vest features a snap-on storm flap that will keep cold winds out while the vest is zipped.

You can see from the inside of the vest that is has a large volume. The Freestyle vest uses premium duck down as the fill, making it both warm and comfortable.
Canada Goose Hybridge Lite Vest in Black. Premium goose down fill. Made in Canada. Sizes X-Small-Large. $325. For more information on the Hybridge Lite Vest, click here.

The Hybridge vest is made of very lightweight materials: the tag attached to the zipper is heavier than the entire piece by itself.

All zippers are reversed to make the design smooth and clean. The quilt design reduces the pack size of the vest.

The vest is filled with premium Hutterite white goose down, and rated for comfort down to 5 degrees fahrenheit.

Naked and Famous "Slow Vintage" Natural Fiber Hoodie

Naked and Famous has released a new version of their Slow Vintage hoodie: one made of a blend of natural fibers. The fabric is made on the same Tsuri Circular Knitting machines from the 1800's as the other Slow Vintage hoodies. The vintage machines knit the fabric very slowly, but this results in a light and soft fabric that has a totally unique characteristic. Naked and Famous "Slow Vintage" Natural Fiber Hoodie. 51% wool, 29% cotton, 20% linen. $245. Fabric made in Wakayama, Japan, sewn in Canada. For more information click here.

The fabric is very fuzzy and soft on the surface, and can only be expected to become more soft. The combination of materials leads to a best-of-both-worlds situation: you get the warmth of wool, the breathability of linen, and the soft comfort of cotton.

We're very happy with the fit on these hoodies. Not only are they made of a comfortable and unique fabric, but they are stylishly slim with great proportions. These hoodies work great on taller guys.
Tsuri circular knitting machines, also known as a vintage loopwheel machines, were originally used in the early 1800's by Italian and French garment manufactures. Similar to the vintage denim shuttle looms abandoned by USA garment manufactures in the early 1900's, tsuri circular knitting machines were also abandoned and sold to make way to more modern mass production machinery. By 1910, Italian and French manufactures began selling their equipment, many of which purchased by Japanese factories. Only a few vintage tsuri circular knitting machines are still being used today as Japanese artisans continue the traditions of quality make with the use of these machines once thought of as being obsolete.

In Wakayama, one factory owns 100 of these precious machines and 50 still operate. Over the years, the factory's artisans made adjustments to the machines allowing them to knit heavier fabrics suitable for modern sportswear such as sweatshirts, parkas, and other knits. The machines take up to 1 hour to make only a meter of fabric, in fact, they move so slow that they can be stopped by hand and thus very labor consuming. This slow operating technique, "slow vintage" as referred by the Wakayama artisans, produces a fabric with far less tension in the yarn resulting in an incredible soft feel that cannot be replicated on modern day equipment.

Naked & Famous Okayama Spirit: Restocks, New Limited Edition Weird Guy!

Naked & Famous has just hit us up with some fresh Weird Guy Okayama Spirits, and this time the inseams are a length we're really happy with: 37.5 inches! The new production has slightly different measurements from the last one, so be sure to check them all before placing an order. This production was limited to only 50 pairs. If you want to pick one up, do it fast, because Naked and Famous has no more fabric and we won't be able to restock them! Check out the new production here.

On top of the new Weird Guys, we are fully stocked in the Slim Guy fit. Along with the Slim Guys we cleared out the warehouse of their Super Skinny Guys, which doesn't fill up on every size, but we've been able to add a few that we were missing. Check the Slim Guys here, and the Super Skinny Guys here. Below are the details on the denim!

The denim draws inspiration the Japan Heritage line, but takes the concept to a new level. It is produced in the same very small, boutique-like denim mill that specializes in artisan denim. The mill can boast brands such as Samurai and Oni. The amazing slubby, handwoven-like texture of the fabric is among the best of its kind. We're seriously impressed with this new offering from Naked & Famous. While the fabric is unsanforized, it has been hot iron pressed which removes much of the shrinkage. You can expect .25"-.5" in the waist and .5"-.75" in the inseam.

The other details on the jean keep up with the quality of the denim. A 10oz natural vegetable tanned patch on the back makes for a solid compliment which will age along with the jeans. The denim has custom "Naked & Famous" buttons, and custom "JE T'ADORE TOUTE NUE" rivets. The coin pocket sports a selvedge line across the top on the slim guy and a hidden selvedge detail on the weird guy. As always, the denim is sewn in Canada.

The slubby nature of the yarn can be seen in the red and white selvedge. This jean makes for a perfect standard indigo denim for those that want to see more character in the denim.

OMNIGOD by Domingo Ltd - Arriving Soon

A few of you may remember three years ago when we introduced Spellbound to the Blue Owl collection. Today we're happy to announce that it's brother, OMNIGOD, will join it in our store. The label is all about a simple concept: Clothing that expresses lifestyle. They create garments that will wear comfortably, with interesting textures, by making the most of materials and methods available. Jay recently had a chance to check out their flagship store in Osaka, you can check out the photos below.

OMNIGOD is one of three labels managed by Domingo Ltd. The label's name was created by rearranging the letters in Domingo. Traditionally OMNIGOD has been their Japan-focused label that makes both men and women's clothing, while Spellbound was created for the men's international market. However, with the changing exchange rate the label has become more accessible. Blue Owl will be carrying denim, shirts, knits, and various accessories. Below is their indigo dye collection.

While the designer teams are different between Spellbound and OMNIGOD, the construction is done in the same factories. This means you'll find the same expert craftsmanship you've come to expect from Japanese products, but in a slightly different fit.

OMNIGOD's signature touch is the orange selvedge line. It can be found on the outseam of the denim, in the placket and vents of the shirts, and in many other clever locations on their clothing. We're very excited to finally be able to offer this superb label to an international market!

Eternal Unstructured Denim/Leather Caps, Chino Fabric Hat

Blue Owl is excited to add a second type of item to our Eternal collection. Three different styles of hats are online now: The engineer cap, the newsboy cap, and the baseball cap. The two denim hats are made of a very light weight, deeply dyed denim that has gone through their one-wash process to give it an uneven, vintage feel. Because the bill is lined with leather and has no internal structure they both fold up easily, small enough to fit into your back pocket. As always with our Japanese labels, the construction is superb. We love the classic styles Eternal has chosen, and the fabrics they've created compliment them perfectly.

Eternal Unstructured Denim/Leather Baseball Cap. 100% cotton. Made in Japan. $120. For more information and pictures click here.

The baseball cap has an unstructured leather bill that makes folding the hat for convenient storage simple. Standard mesh front panels reinforce the hat. The taping along the inside is very high quality both in material and sewing.

The back of the hat has a small leather tag with the word "Eternal" branded on. Small brass rivets secure both the tag, and the button on top of the hat.

Eternal Unstructured Denim/Leather Engineer Cap. 100% cotton. Made in Japan. $110. For more information and pictures click here.

Unstructured leather bill. You can see the weft side of the denim fabric here, and the uneven neppy yarns that have come out from the wash.

The engineer cap features a small leather Eternal branded tag riveted to the back. A very nice detail.

Eternal Chino Fabric Newsboy Cap. 100% cotton. Made in Japan. $80. For more information and pictures click here.

The hat uses a very consistent, yet interesting chino fabric. You can see the character it has in this closeup.
