Momotaro "Going to Battle" 15.7oz "Tight Straight" 0705sp - Restocked

Their Backl! The Momotaro 0705sp is one of our most popular denim models and another restock has just arrived. The "Going to Battle" series uses the same 15.7oz selvedge fabric as used on the Vintage Label line, except the "Going to Battle" series is a one wash denim. The denim has been washed one time using sea water from Okayama coast. The wash shrinks the fabric down so that it is ready to wear as is and no further shrinkage is expected. It also has less starch and is less rigid compared to the Vintage Label, making it comfortable to wear immediately, yet it will still produce amazing fades from prolong wear. The fit is the same "tight straight" fit which is the same as the Vintage Label 0701, but since the fabric is a one wash the measurements will be different and the fabric will lay differently. Please use the posted measurements to choose your size, or contact us for sizing advice.

Momotaro "Going to Battle" 15.7oz "tight straight" raw selvedge denim - model 0705sp. 100% Zimbabwe cotton. Sizes 28-34, 36. Made in Japan. $295. For more information on the Momotaro "Going to Battle" 15.7oz "tight straight" raw denim, click here.

The "Going to Battle" stripes is one of the signature designs of the Momotaro label. The "Going to Battle" stripes are a symbol of Japanese tradition representing honor and strength. The warrior stripes also represent the flag carried by "Momotaro" in the original folklore story.

The fabric is a 15.7oz super-dense 6s yarn made with 100% Zimbabwe cotton and dyed to a deep blue natural indigo. The fabric has a hairy surface with a good amount of slub and character.

Custom engraved buttons with Momotaro logos along the button fly.

The pink selvedge and pink thread along the interior inseam are common features of Momotaro denim. The pink (peach) color has come to represent both the region of Okayama (which is known for peaches) and the peach from the Japanese folklore story of "Momotaro".

The Momotaro "Going to Battle" denim jacket has become one of our store favorites. It runs slim in the arms and body and length hits just below the belt which is the ideal fit for a denim jacket.  We first introduced the "going to battle" denim jacket in fall 2011 and we are excited to have it available once again as part of the spring 2013 collection.

The fabric is custom designed by Rampuya exclusively for the Momotaro label. It is a deep blue natural indigo 15.7oz selvedge using super-dense 6s yarn Zimbabwe cotton. The fabric has been soaked in sea water from the Okayama coast, thus it is pre-shrunk and ready-to-wear. This is the identical fabric used on the Momotaro 0705sp denim and also in the Vintage Label denim line.

The "Going to Battle" stripes are a symbol of Japanese tradition representing honor and strength. The warrior stripes have been used in many contexts in Japanese history and culture. One of the most well known associations is from the Japanese folklore story of "Momotaro" who carried a flag with two white stripes as he left to battle a band of marauding Oni (ogres) on a distant island who terrorized the region.

Another round of denim restocks from Momotaro are here!  This shipment included the Momotaro Copper "Tight Straight" dark indigo. The Momotaro Copper Label series features copper accent hardware and a 14.7oz weight selvedge which is slightly lighter compared to the other Momotaro denim series. What makes this model special is the indigo used. Prior to the release of this model this past spring, the Copper Label series denims featured lighter shades of indigo which were more vintage inspired. The new model is a deep indigo color that is more modern and the same pure indigo used on the Vintage Label denims like the 0701 and on the Going to Battle denims like the 0705sp.
