Momotaro has made their name as the denim collection label produced by Rampuya, one of the most famous denim mills in Okayama, Japan, but they do much more than just denim. Momotaro's shirting are also made with delicate care and detailed works of sewing, washing, weaving, and dying, all of which using traditional methods passed down from generations of denim artisans. The "Going to Battle" work shirt features the Japan "2-line" stripes on the sleeve, 5oz selvedge chambray fabric, triple needle construction throughout, and a modern fit as it has a slight taper through the body, has high arm holes, and is slim in the arms.

The "Going to Battle" stripes are a symbol of Japanese tradition representing honor and strength. The warrior stripes have been used in many contexts in Japanese history and culture. One of the most well known associations is from the Japanese folklore story of "Momotaro" who carried a flag with two white stripes as he left to battle a band of marauding Oni (ogres) on a distant island who terrorized the region.
